サムスンは、アイテムのトラッキングに役立つ新しいデバイス「Galaxy SmartTag2」を発表しました。SmartTag2は、サムスンの「Galaxy」スマートフォンでのみ利用でき、米国での価格は29.99ドル（約4500円）です。新しいコンパクトなサイズとリング状のデザインを採用し、リングの内側を金属製にして耐久性を高めています。また、新しい「Power Saving Mode」と改良された「Normal Mode」により、バッテリー持続時間も長くなりました。SmartTag2は、最大700日間（従来モデルの2倍以上）Power Saving Mode使用時、通常モード使用時は最大500日間持続するという。さらに、Android 11以上を搭載したUWB対応のGalaxyスマートフォンがあれば、改良された「Compass View」機能を利用できます。この機能は、SmartTag2がある方角と距離を矢印で表示できるようになりました。SmartTag2は、10月11日に世界各国で発売されます[1][2][4]。
